Today sees the opening of Black Lodge – a brewery, tap house and charcuterie with collaboration and experimentation at its heart.
Conceived by our friends at Liverpool Craft Beer, The 23 Club and us – Black Lodge will be brewing, pouring and sourcing premium beers and serving cheese & charcuterie platters from its Kitchen Street home this winter onwards.
Elemental brewing flows through the business – using local ingredients allows the brewery to be agile and experimental; developing beers that are influenced by the seasons to satisfy inquisitive palettes. International collaborators will add to the ever-changing lineup of brews – so finding a favourite will become a ritual for hop-heads. The venue is stripped back to its industrial roots – allowing the brewery installation and process to be the star of the show. Dark glamour and a touch of escapism set the tone for the many adventures to flow from the 13 taps.
Launching with a Blackberry India Pale Ale (playfully named Michaelmas Day IPA after a folk-law tale involving the Devil and a bramble bush) a Russian Kvass and a Cinnamon and Raisin Stout, the brewery will be open Thursday – Sunday, from 4th December.
