They sound good before you even know what they are. Each name has its own rhythm – a bounce, a pause, a bit of bite. Words you can almost taste.
That’s where Food fancies began – with the pleasure of pronunciation. We found ourselves savouring the sound of these names as much as the sandwiches behind them, and started to explore how that could look in print.
Each artwork translates the shape of a word into colour and form. Syllables become structure. Repetition becomes rhythm. The balance of a phrase becomes the balance of a composition.
The result is six bright, playful compositions that sit somewhere between pop art and typographic play – precise, full of character and quietly satisfying.
