Developed in collaboration with RIBA North and consultant Miles Falkingham, as a celebration of 25 years of Urban Splash, 'It Will Never Work' narrates the story of the Ground-breaking property developers via many of the award-winning schemes it has developed; examining the context in which they were created and distilling the attitude and values that made them possible.

To date, It Will Never Work has been the most visited exhibition at RIBA North. The opening event was attended by Liverpool’s Metropolitan Mayor, Steve Rotherham with corresponding events in Manchester attended by Manchester Metropolitan Mayor Andy Burnham, alongside significant figures from architecture, design and regeneration fields.‘It Will Never Work’ broke RIBA North’s visitor records for an exhibtion – numbers exceeded 10,000+ plus during the short run. Widely featured in local, national and industry press, the exhibition helped increase traffic to Urban Splash’s website, with sales leads increasing by 28% and a whopping 216% increase in database sign-ups.
