The concept is shaped by both the lasting impression of an experience at Liverpool Philharmonic and the character of Herbert J. Rowse’s 1939 Art Deco Hall. Its composed exterior gives way to a richer, more expressive interior of curves, detail and atmosphere. Those architectural forms became the starting point for a flexible visual language that can expand, repeat and ripple – echoing the movement of sound from the Hall and out into the city. The idea begins with the building, but extends beyond it – reflecting Liverpool Philharmonic’s role in performance, learning, health and the wider community.
